Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am pleased to welcome all the participants to the International Conference of the Genetics Society of Korea, 2016 (ICGSK 2016) that will be held in Jeju Island, South Korea from November 9 to 11, 2016. This conference will give you a platform to broaden your knowledge, exchange ideas and technologies on a broad topics in Genetics and Genomics, and serve the opportunities for networking among participants. The conference will be held at the Ramada Plaza Jeju, Korea¡¯s first coastal hotel located in Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

The scientific program includes three Plenary Lectures and 15 Symposia focusing on the latest research breakthroughs. In addition, a Poster Session will be arranged for young scientists to present their research progress. This year, we are pleased to have Dr. Dennis Drayna (NINCD, NIH, USA), Dr. Jeong-Sun Seo (SNU, Korea) and Dr. Didier Stainier (Max Plank Institute, Germany) as plenary lecturers. In addition, more than 45 world-class scientists from domestic and foreign institutions and 15 Korean young scientists will introduce cutting-edge studies in the Symposia.

There will be a ceremony for the 2nd GSK Academic Research Awards, such as the GSK Life Science Award and the GSK Young Scientist Award. In addition, many companies and industries in the field of bioscience and biotechnology will participate at this conference for the exhibition of research material, biotechnology, and equipment. We are confident that this conference will provide to all the participants with the most updated information on the latest scientific advancements and valuable opportunities to exchange the ideas and launch future collaborations.

We eagerly look forward to meeting you at the ICGSK 2016 in volcanic Jeju Island, Unesco World Natural Heritage of Korea this November.
